Circle Square

Circle Square was given the green light for its application to accommodate a part-12, part-18 storey building which would include a hotel and an energy centre. The new building would become a key piece of the transport jigsaw for Circle Square, with a circle highway and improvements to Oxford Road to be part of an integrated transport infrastructure.

This ‘hybrid’ building type was to combine a number of different uses which is completely new to Manchester – the 150-bed hotel was to occupy the 12th to 17th floors, while the 1,100 car-parking spaces were to cover the ground to 11th floors.

CDD were appointed to provide the RC detail for the full concrete frame including basement and capping beam. This is another example of where our extensive experience helps our clients. Many projects throw many a curveball especially where any transport infrastructures are included so you want to know that a project like this which requires such a variety of considerations from transport, to the sheer volumes and types of concrete being used is in experienced hands.
