CDD Ltd were appointed to undertake the RC Detailing of piled foundations with ground beams, comprising of flat slabs with concrete cores and columns.
West Drayton was a former industrial site to be transformed into a new waterfront residential development of 87 units contained within four separate blocks.
The site sat within a prime location adjacent to the Grand Union Canal and immediately opposite the new West Drayton Crossrail Station, so the apartments were designed to offer attractive water views and high levels of amenity.
These blocks ranged from three to six storeys and shared a common single level basement, so needed a variety of considerations for the RC Detailing which we love as it draws on the expanse of our years of experience.
The structures were to be formed from reinforced concrete and needed to aid service distribution and minimise floor to ceiling heights. A flat slab solution was selected, with a transfer level slab provided at ground floor level over the basement car parking area. The basement was constructed from a contiguous piled wall which incorporated waterproofing to the perimeter.
This project required some re-engineering of existing plans which is where an experienced team is valuable – the pitfalls aren’t always obvious to a novice, so if you have projects where you need RC Detailing revisions, or new RC Detailing providing from scratch, get in touch.
